Our promise to you
No Win. No Fee.
Why choose us
We believe your claim deserves individual attention, careful consideration and advice tailored to your circumstances. We measure success by the outcomes we achieve for our clients, not the number of claims moving through the system.
We believe you should only pay for work that advances your claim. We focus on what matters, avoid unnecessary complexity and don't engage in practices that increase costs without improving outcomes.
We've been doing this work for a long time. Experience helps us identify issues early, avoid common pitfalls and focus on the steps that make the greatest difference to the outcome of your claim.
You won't hear us speaking in legal jargon or hiding behind technical language. We explain things clearly, answer questions promptly and keep you informed so you always understand what is happening and what comes next.
A personal injury claim is never just about the money. It is about your health, your family, your finances, your work and your future. We understand that people come to us during difficult periods in their lives, and we approach every claim with compassion, patience and respect.
Injured in a car, motorcycle or pedestrian accident?
A motor vehicle accident can leave you dealing with injuries, medical appointments, time away from work and uncertainty about the future. If another road user was at fault, you may be entitled to compensation.
We assist people injured in car, motorcycle, bicycle, truck and pedestrian accidents. From dealing with insurers to gathering evidence and pursuing compensation, we guide clients through the claims process from start to finish.
Injured at work, commuting to or from work or while you were on a work break?
Getting injured at work can affect far more than your physical health. It can impact your income, your family life and your ability to return to the work you enjoy.
We assist injured workers with WorkCover Queensland claims and, where appropriate, common law claims for additional compensation. Our role is to help you understand your rights, avoid common pitfalls and ensure you receive the entitlements available to you.
Injured in a public place, someone's home or business premises?
Property owners, businesses and local councils have a responsibility to take reasonable care for the safety of people who use their premises and facilities. When they fail to do so, serious injuries can occur.
We assist people injured in slip and fall accidents, trip hazards, dog attacks, sporting incidents and other accidents occurring in public places. We investigate how the accident occurred and pursue compensation where another party's negligence contributed to the injury.
Suffered harm from a medical procedure, misdiagnosis or failure of care?
When we seek medical treatment, we trust healthcare professionals to provide care that meets accepted professional standards. Unfortunately, mistakes do occur and the consequences can be life-changing.
We assist clients with claims arising from delayed diagnosis, misdiagnosis, surgical errors, medication mistakes and other forms of negligent medical care. We can help investigate what went wrong and advise whether a compensation claim may be available.
Unable to work due to illness or injury?
Many people are unaware that their superannuation fund may include insurance benefits that can provide valuable financial support following illness or injury.
We assist with Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims, income protection claims and trauma insurance claims. We can also help if your insurer has denied your claim or disputed your entitlement to benefits.

We believe your claim deserves individual attention, careful consideration and advice tailored to your circumstances.
We measure success by the outcomes we achieve for our clients, not by the number of claims moving through the system.
That's what differentiates us from high-volume firms whose objective is to sign up as many clients as possible and process as many claims as possible in the shortest amount of time.
Instead, we prefer to keep things personal.
We focus on the work that matters and on achieving the best possible outcome as efficiently as possible. That means avoiding unnecessary correspondence, unnecessary meetings and unnecessary delays.
Unfortunately, there is no shortage of legal tasks that can be performed on a file without making any meaningful difference to the outcome. For some lawyers, performing those tasks has become an art.
We don't practise those dark arts. If a task won't help move your claim forward, we won't spend your money doing it.
Experience matters. Our team has spent decades acting for injured Queenslanders. We know the legislation, we know the insurers and we know the practical realities of running compensation claims.
Queensland compensation law is a specialised area of practice. The legislation is complex, the procedures are technical and there are countless opportunities for claims to go off track.
Experience means we have seen most things before. We can identify issues early, avoid common pitfalls and focus our efforts on the things most likely to improve the outcome of your claim.
Some lawyers like to make things sound complicated. We don't.
You won't hear us speaking in legal jargon or hiding behind technical language.
We believe it is our job to explain clearly what is happening, why it is happening and what comes next. We'll provide regular updates, return your calls and speak in plain English.
We understand that people come to us during difficult periods in their lives. That's why we take the time to listen, understand your circumstances and appreciate the impact your injury has had on you and your family.
A personal injury claim is never just about the money. It is about your health, your family, your finances, your work and your future. It is about the things your injury has stopped you doing and the challenges it has created in your day-to-day life.
We'll treat you with patience, compassion and respect because, to us, you are a person, not a file number.

One of the first questions people ask when considering a compensation claim is:
"Can I afford a lawyer?"
It's a fair question.
Most people have never engaged a lawyer before and have little idea how lawyers charge for their work or when they might have to pay.
That's why we work on a No Win. No Fee. basis.
That means if your claim is unsuccessful, you will not have to pay us for the work we have done on your claim.
If your claim is successful, you'll receive compensation, and we'll be paid for the legal work we have done for you.
"If I win, will you take most of the money I am awarded in fees?"
No.
Queensland law provides an important protection for people making personal injury claims. In most compensation matters, a lawyer cannot charge professional fees that exceed 50% of the compensation recovered by the client.
Importantly, the 50% rule is a maximum limit that lawyers can charge, not a target.
"So how much will it cost?"
Like most law firms, we charge for the time spent working on your claim. The amount charged depends on the work required to progress the matter, not on a predetermined percentage of the compensation recovered.
At Zest we pride ourselves on working as efficiently as possible so that you only pay for work that is necessary for the claim to be successful. That means avoiding unnecessary correspondence, unnecessary meetings, and unnecessary delays.
No surprises.
Before we commence work, we will explain exactly how our costs work, the expenses that may arise during the claim and any potential cost risks, so that you understand where you stand from the outset.
If anything is unclear, ask us. We are happy to answer questions and explain things in plain English before you decide whether to proceed.
